Finally Suzuki has decided to put their Crossgate concept into production. But that’s not the only good news. The Crossgate is also going to be hydrogen powered, a huge plus for all the environmentalists out there. The crosscage concept motorcycle fuel-cell motorcycle is a simple, compact, lightweight air-cooled fuel-cell system and a high-performance secondary battery are brought together in a way that realizes optimal power control. All which was developed with the help of the British Intelligent Energy. Not only is this bike eco friendly, it’s design is out of this world.

That bike looks pretty awesome. Hydrogen is definitely the next generation for vehicles. The current problem is that it often requires fossil fuels to produce the hydrogen, which makes it no longer environmentally friendly.

Bet it goes like a bomb!

Why would an environmentalist want a Hydrogen powered vehicle? Environmentalists are smart enough to know where hydrogen comes from (steam reformation of natural gas, mostly). Sure, you are burning H2 in the vehicle, but that H2 came from separating CH4 in an O2 environment, producing CO2 + 2H2 at the plant. That CO2 is still being emitted, it just gets emitted somewhere else.

Hydrogen vehicles are for the smug wannabee environmentalists, the ones that have more dollars than sense. Fortunately for automakers (particularly Toyota with the Prius) there are a lot of wannabees around.

A real environmentalist is more likely riding a bicycle. Or probably is living within walking distance of where they work and shop.
