Ever wondered what the most fuel efficient vehicle out there is? Well the The Microjoule is your answer. A single-seat racer that looks like something out of Star Trek can approximately get 8,923 miles per gallon. MircoJoule’s design has been formed by students from the French Technical School, St. Joseph La Joliverie, who have entered the Shell Eco Marathon since 1985. The Eco Marathon is yearly race held at the Nogaro Motor Circuit in France. It involves over 200 teams from 25 different countries, and the idea is to simply create a vehicle that goes as far as possible with the leas amount of fuel. Naturally, the idea is that the participating vehicles produce the fewest emissions that they can possibly produce.
- The Microjoule has entered the race every single year
- Since 1992, the Microjoule has won this race every single time
- Broken the world record 6 times.
The Microjoule is a very simple design that is light, and contains no bells and whistles. They look to win once again in May 2008 in the Shell Eco Marathon.

French concept car wins by getting best mileage? What! No American Engineering students on the design list? Competing? Winning? WTF! I guess if you are on a sports scholarship at a University with the best facilities, best food, loosest girls, and a student parking lot full of the latest Corvettes, you are hardly entitled to solving real world problems, right? Get a grip American assholes! you are Losers! High paid, well fed, over dressed, over sexed, over entertained Losers! Even a small country like France with few resources and a third world lifestyle compared to yours can KICK YOUR ASS in an intellectual contest, and they don’t enen play football! Jerk offs, you let us down every time!

@Uncle B
Very true!
Love this! The ratio for petrol/km is crazy!

“Naturally, the idea is that the participating vehicles produce the fewest emissions that they can possibly produce.”
No. The idea is that the participating vehicles get the highest distance per unit, of fluid measurement, of gasoline in this case.
@ Uncle B
Really? That is what you think of Americans? I personally find it hard to try and categorize Americans as a whole. The people, are not stereotypes of the talking heads in news and politics. Stereotyping is easy, categorizing is not.

yes uncle b most of us americans have been living a kush life style which generates nothing but ignorance; but in this country there are people from all walks of life, simply there are hard working and very intelligent people. Read a little more, we have designed many things that are much more impressive then this. Its that the us as a whole is very stupid, politics gets in the way and the culture we have grown into finds nothing wrong with suvs. its not all of us, just most of us that are morons (or simply arnt willing to change). Another note france has people living on farms but so do we. there are not “third world” and its obvious you dont actually know what “third world” means. third world=papua new guinea.
on another note you better not be an adult talkin like that and just a teenager because you would then be very ignorant for your age.
yet another, good job france! now just get it into marketable form.

You know, Uncle B, your remark says more about your country than the US. But of course, one person doesn’t represent an entire country. As an American, I can get this. It’s a shame you can’t.
This concept car is amazing! It would nice, however, if they could actually manufacture one for public use. That’d be crazy.
