The days of having multiple stacks of business cards are over. The new B-scanner is a little bit bigger than an actual business card. You slide your business card into the  B-scanner and it does the rest. It’ll store and display the data on an OLED screen (which is clear enough for the fine print). You’ll no longer need old school business card holders, because the B-scanner will store all the business cards you’ll need.

If they could perfect this design so you could also read the back side of business cards, if necessary, that would be great. I think this is a great design overall which would keep every businessman more organized. Don’t be surprised if you see something of this nature on shelves across the country.

Getting accurate measurements is crucial for any project. It could be the difference between a job well done and a complete meltdown. The Digital Measuring Tape features a large easy-to-read display that is capable of memorizing your measurements with the push of a button. It can give measurements in either feet and inches or metric units and will even display fractions of an inch (as small as 1/16th) just like a standard tape measure. There is also a setting for adding the case length for taking inside measurements. The Digital Measuring Tape turns on and off automatically, when the tape is extended it turns on and when it’s fully retracted it turns off, simple as that.

Printers have always been big and boxy, and have always required millions or cords. Introducing the new “Trak” by designer Hung Chih Wang. Never before has a printer been operated entirely from the back of a laptop display. The Trak printer features a detachable printer head, powered by USB. It looks as though you simply feed the paper through the top of the printer and woo-la! A perfect idea for travelers. No date as to when this concept would be put into production.

Here and there you’ll see concepts that although look amazing, they still seem unrealistic. Here are 5 simple designs that will have you saying, “I wish i had thought of that.”

1. Foot Dustpan

Everyone who’s dusted knows that there’s no easy way of doing it. You’re either straining your back trying to hold the dustpan down, or you trying to sweep dust into a moving dustpan. Well here is an incredibly simple design by Mathias Lange that saves your back, and makes your life much easier.

2. Nail Assist

Some people just can’t hammer a nail if their life depended on it. It’s especially frustrating when you’ve got a very important project and before you know it you’ve got to take out bent nails, and try to patch the holes that your bent nails were supposed to go. All you have to do is insert the nail inside the guide tube. Position the tube where you want the nail to be. The large top makes it much easier to manage a hammer slamming down on it. It also protects your precious and very useful fingers.

3. Dog bowl and placement all in one

A classic example of a brilliant simple design. A placemat that suctions itself to the dog bowl so nothing will ever spill, and the dog bowl will never get moved across the kitchen. The molded shape creates a suction keeping it from slipping while lifting the bowl high enough for doggie to eat.

4. Roundup – Hose Wheel

This all-in-one unit allows the user to unroll and rewind the garden hose without having to pull or touch the hose. The Hose Wheel moves to where your focus is so you’ll never have to deal with tangles lines, or dirty hands. The short hose feature allows the user to reach the distance of a seventy-five foot garden hose while only having to deal with six. Though the concept shows a shorter length of hose being used, longer lengths could be used to suit the needs and wants of the user.

5. Magneto Shelves

Everyone knows what a magnet is, but not many people have heard of magnetic shelves. These shelves contain between one and three neodymium magnets, which are very powerful and allow for a strong connection to your fridge or whiteboard.

Most people take for granted the small hand muscles that are used for everyday things such as writing. For some of the disabled it’s hard to control small hand movements.

A pen or graphite tip is inserted into a small hourglass shaped holder which provides all the support. The rubberized knob makes it easy to grip with your palm to move the pen. Effort is powered by the arm instead of the hand.
