Earlier thoughts for a $100 laptop to be used by “One Laptop per Child”(OLPC) had started to deminish until early this year. Until Group leader, Nicholas Negroponte, brought up a new concept of a keyboardless, dual touch screen, tablet called the XO-2. The combo, computer and 8.9 inch dual touch screens have been estimated a higher price then Negroponte’s acclaimed $150 ticket price. One way OLPC would save enough money to possibly reach their goal of the price set, would be by using two inexpensive Synaptics touchscreens, used by big name companies such as Apple, Dell and Sony. A brilliant idea to keep your bed sheets cool without causing you sleepers to sweat. The fan sends a whisper-quiet breeze between your sheets, surrounding your body with cool and helping you sleep through a hot night. It saves money, too, by reducing bedroom temperature.

As your body generates heat, that heat is trapped at night between your sheets and absorbed into your mattress. Until now, the only way to get rid of the heat was kick off the sheet and turn the air conditioner up high, to cool down the whole room - or your whole house. But Bed Fan gets right to the focal point of the problem. Placed at the foot of the bed, Bed Fan sends a calm breeze directly between your sheets. The cool breeze travels between your top sheet and bottom sheet and bathes sleepers in a stream of cool, comforting air. And it keeps you cool by pushing out the body heat that gets trapped beneath the covers, causing you to sweat.

If you have night sweats or if you want to stay cool while wrapped up in your sheets buy the BedFan for $100. Read the rest of this entry »

carpet_alarm.jpg

If you’re like me, you have to set two alarm clocks for the next morning. The reason why is because I always fall asleep through the first alarm. Well this new clever alarm clock makes you have to fully stand up to turn it off. The carpet alarm clock can be set to any time and turns off only when you step on it. If you’re still thinking you’ll fall asleep don’t be afraid to place the carpet alarm clock on the other side of the room. Of course it wouldn’t be a clock if it didn’t have and LCD screen to indicate time too. Read the rest of this entry »
