Finally a Robot That Can Take Abuse

Ok I’ll be the first one to admit that I’m never really too impressed with what robots can do. I always hear about millions of dollars of funding being spent on robotics, and I still haven’t found a robot that i really think could make a huge impact… until i watched this video. Boston Dynamics has built their reputation with what they have built on four legs. Their newest bot, the LittleDog can carry up to 350 pounds and is shockingly stable. French concept car gets 8,923 miles per gallon

Ever wondered what the most fuel efficient vehicle out there is? Well the The Microjoule is your answer. A single-seat racer that looks like something out of Star Trek can approximately get 8,923 miles per gallon. MircoJoule’s design has been formed by students from the French Technical School, St. Joseph La Joliverie, who have entered the Shell Eco Marathon since 1985. The Eco Marathon is yearly race held at the Nogaro Motor Circuit in France. It involves over 200 teams from 25 different countries, and the idea is to simply create a vehicle that goes as far as possible with the leas amount of fuel. Naturally, the idea is that the participating vehicles produce the fewest emissions that they can possibly produce. Read the rest of this entry »

Nike Shoe Made Out of Recycled Materials

Nike launches a new shoe in February 2008 which uses recycled scrap waste from Nike’s own production facilities. You wouldn’t think a Nike shoe made out of scrap would look good, but it does. Enough that the Pheonix Suns point guard Steve Nash endorses them. The new Nike ‘Trash Talk’ is on retail for $100, a shoe that clearly illustrates how a company like Nike can spin it’s scrap into gold.
